New Zealand's plants are renowned for their exceptional resilience. Some NZ plants have developed different constituents as a defensive and adaptogenic mechanism in order to survive in the unique NZ environment where the ozone layer is thinner, providing less protection from damaging UV rays. This natural adaptation, coupled with New Zealand's geographical isolation and diverse ecosystems, has enabled these plants to thrive in the face of environmental challenges.
Wakame algae (Wild Harvested)
Our Wakame extract is sustainable produced from Wakame algae grown in the pristine marine waters located under NZ Alps. Wakame is known for its ability to hydrate the skin. It contains natural polysaccharides that can act as humectants, drawing moisture into the skin and helping to keep it well-hydrated.It is rich in bioactive compounds like carotenoids and phenolics that can offers skin benefits like anti-oxidant protection, improves skins' elasticity. Manuka 514+ MGO Honey
The MGO (Methylglyoxal) content in Manuka Honey is a measure of its potency and potential health benefits. Higher MGO content indicates a greater concentration of methylglyoxal, which is a natural compound responsible for many of Manuka Honey's unique properties. Harakeke Flax
Harakeke extract is a gel- like substance extracted from NZ native flax, which is celebrated for its antibacterial and soothing properties. It cools angry skin, clears pores and hydrates the skin to help prevent recurring breakouts and blemishes.
Mamaku (Black Fern)
Also known as New Zealand Black Fern, Mamaku is a plant traditionally used by the Maori people as a medicine. It contains Glucuronomannans and other synergistic ingredients which when applied to the skin, it tightens and lifts the skin, while also offering intense hydration and promoting cell renewal, collagen production and improves the levels of elastin.
Kumerahou
A New Zealand native, Koumerahou is a plant rich in saponins (nature’s deep cleanser). It offers deep but gentle cleansing which effectively cleans the skin without compromising its natural protective barrier.
Kawakawa Oil
This New Zealand native has been used for generations as a treatment for dry, irritated or damaged skin because it heals minor cuts and abrasions effectively. In skincare, Kawakawa oil is used because it contains Myristicin and Elemicin, which are anti-inflammatory compounds that simultaneously detoxify the skin while also nourishing and protecting it. Kawakawa oil also restores balance to the skin’s natural oil levels.
NZ Glacial Clay
Collected from the foothills of the Southern Alps, our glacial clay is comprised of ancient volcanic ash and fresh glacial water. Our Pomegranate extract contains 70% punicic acid, a unique conjugated fatty acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Australian Macadamia Oil is high in natural Squalane, which is a potent source of palmitoleic acid (a fatty acid which is present in the skin and decreases as we age). It contains keratin to reverse visible signs of ageing and it reinforces the skin’s protective barrier. Macadamia Oil is also rich in phytosterols, which reduce inflammation and support sensitive skin.
Abyssinian Oil
Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil is notably high in Erucic Acid, resulting in a rich concentration of Omega 9, a non-essential fatty acid that offers intensive nourishment to the skin. Known for its remarkable stability and prolonged effects, this oil rapidly penetrates the outer layers of the epidermis, deeply hydrating the skin while forming a soft, protective barrier against dehydration. Remarkably, it closely resembles human sebum, making it effective in regulating sebum production, which can be beneficial for acne-prone and moisture-deprived skin types.
